Valentine’s Day is coming, and even though we’ll tell you a balloon flight should be first on your list of gifts (duh! – check out our Valentine’s Day special), we also love to share and spruik all our local legends: small businesses like our own who share the same values we do – making sure our customers have the best experience ever. Here are a few we’d love you to visit if you’re still on a search for the perfect proclamation of affection this February…
Flowers of Yarra Glen
Walking in here smells like wandering into the ferny depths of Toolangi State Forest… they use everything from Australian native flowers to sprays of gum leaves to create epic masterpieces and designs; the whole store is filled with the scent of the bush. Allie and Erin love what they do, and they’ll be eager to help you out this V-day. We’ll say this once – get onto them now because it’s the busiest time of the year for the flower people!
Bake and Gather
It’s a contentious topic, but we’re willing to bet that some partners out there aren’t opposed to receiving a practical present for Valentine’s Day, even if it’s a practice that might be frowned upon. How about we provide the recommendation and leave it to you to read the room? Regardless, this is a kitchen and homewares shop worth the visit. Justine and Juan have filled to the brim with high-quality and beautiful things; there’s something here for everyone. So good!
MIDNIGHT Flowers and Sharps
This stunning store is located on the corner of Healesville’s main street. It is filled with beautiful arrangements and gifts of great taste, plus an exceptional collection of handcrafted Hamono Studios Japanese knives. Why not invest in both? A perfect present for the right recipient!
VERSO Books, HEALESVILLE
If your person is a bookworm – stop! Like any bookstore, one could spend hours here – this one looks out to leafy, street-side trees, and their curated selection of books and gifts invites you to linger a while as you find just the right thing. If you need to cut down on time, check with the friendly staff for a go-to guide by topic.
Rosie Posie Floral Designs
Located in Seville Village, Rosalie and Nina will sort out your floral requirements! They also stock an impressive array of house plants, candles, and other gifts. Visit their website and check out all the different bunches they can whip up – everything from native bush to seasonal bouquets. A fantastic option if you live in the southern end of the Valley.
Wandin Florist
Just up the road, you can also find the Wandin Florist – here are assembled the cutest arrangements of locally picked flowers in mason jars and other delightful receptacles. Amy and her team are super lovely, and you can tell that they love what they do. Let them know we sent you! <3
Thank you for supporting our local businesses and sharing the love this year.
