Global Ballooning travels to the North Pole

The trip to 90 degrees north was aboard the largest nuclear icebreaker in the world – 50 let Pobedy (50 years of Victory). This incredible ship is able to move at 14 knots through 1 metre of ice.

The voyage takes 5 days to reach the North Pole with the ship stopping along the way to allow passengers to watch Polar Bears wondering in their icey kingdom.

Subsequently, Global Ballooning Australia has returned each year in the Arctic summer with 2014 providing perfect conditions for guests to rise up in our small wicker basket to look out over the vast ice desert and to gaze down on the giant ship that has carried them to the Northern axis of the world.

Just another chapter in the 25 year history of amazing adventures that the Global Ballooning name has been associated with.
